About Us

Hi, I'm Peter Griffiths, welcome to my webpage. I have been a V.I.P. franchisee since 2008. The thing I enjoy about owning my own V.I.P. franchise is the pleasure of being able to work outside in the fresh air, doing work I enjoy and helping my customers maintain a pleasant lawn and garden environment.

Prior to owning my own V.I.P. franchise, I sold Aluminium for a national company and prior to that worked as a Chef. I lived on a landscaped, half acre bush block in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria.

My Family and I had been here about 2 years when I realised that I was missing my gardens back in Victoria. The half acre block we lived on, had many tall trees and a 20 degree slope and not much more when we moved in 20 years ago. Over the years, Heather and I developed many gardens full of ferns, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons. The trees provided firewood and about 70% shade throughout the year, while providing challenges to creating a healthy garden. Obviously, maintaining this property in a high bushfire risk zone like the Dandenong Ranges, was a relentless task but one that gave us hours of enjoyment all year round.

After being transferred to Adelaide in 2006, I found myself increasingly dissatisfied working in an office for long hours and very little job satisfaction.

That was when I found that I missed the constant demands of a garden, started looking for a replacement, and found VIP.

Now, I work about the same hours each week but have the satisfaction of knowing that every single customer has need of the services that I offer. Every yard I help maintain, gives me a sense of accomplishment that very few other careers can offer. Life working in a garden offers countless opportunities to keep learning. Best of all, other people get to enjoy the results of the work I do.

My wife, Heather often lends a hand on the weekends and we both benefit from this shared activity. Our Daughter, Rhiannon has regularly assisted with the business and is now considering a career in Landscape Gardening. Together, we look forward to many happy years working in and around Henley Beach.
